Even more sun than Lebanon, welcome to the beating heart of capitalism in the Middle East. Work hard, play hard in the bright and sparkly world of the UAE.

Sizzling in Sharm El Sheikh

Those wonderful people at Four Seasons invited me on a press trip to Egypt. After two days in exquisite luxury in Cairo, we were whisked to the exclusive paradise of Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh where we lived liked royalty for all but a few days. I chickened out, like the girly I am, of the quadbiking, preferring to keep my bones in tact, but I revelled in my first snorkelling excursion around the reefs of the island of Tiran. Obviously, I'm not going to publish a pic of me in a wetsuit looking like an Eastern European shotputter. So here's a jolly photo of the whole group with me hiding my hips at the back!

From Beirut to Dubai

Having sampled the hedonistic joys of Lebanon for two and a half years, I have left the fair shores of the Mediterranean for the desert climate of UAE. From the madness of Beirut to the sanitised sparkle of Dubai. As editor of the regions premier magazine for art and culture from te Middle East and Arab world - Canvas - www.mixed-media.com - life is good. I have been embraced by the Lebanese diaspora and have found a glorious apartment with private pool and gym. Aaah! This is the life, people!
